The Cherryville Artisans Shop has built a fine reputation and made many friends, since it opened its door in May 2001.  You can't miss it!, on Highway 6, in a delightful rural setting in the foothills of the Monashee Mountains (Mountains of Peace in gaelic).

The shop building itself is colourfully painted with a continuous theme mural, celebrating the four seasons.  An outdoor resting area is incorporated into the landscaping around the building, with sulpture garden including pond and giant mushroom umbrellas!  Visitors enjoy the magical atmosphere.

The shop is filled with local, quality, handcrafted wares including fused and blown glassworks; steel & glass sculpture and furniture; jewellery; functional & decorative pottery; handwoven clothing, homewares and other accessories; log furniture and other woodwork; greeting cards, handcrafted soap and more.

The Cherryville Artisans' Shop is located in Cherryville; 50 kilometres East of Vernon and 100 kilometres West of the Needles Ferry on Highway 6, in the North East of the Thompson-Okanagan region, in the interior of British Columbia.

Glass Fusing Workshops
with Helen Kovacs

Glassmaker, Helen Kovacs, is now offering glass fusing workshops to be held at her Red Dog Glass Studio, beautifully situated in Cherryville.

A special type of glass is used for fusing, using techniques that date back to 1500 BCE.  The student will learn many techniques in hot glass, utilising an electric kiln to melt specially formulated glass together in patterns to create suncatchers, jewellery, ornaments, etc.

Day 1:  Create glass art, to be fired overnight.
Day 2:  Remove work from kiln.  Grind, polish and finish items.
Critique and discussion for future projects.
Student can expect to complete 2 to 3 pieces.
Dates:  Available by appointment for personal workshops.

Those interested in making an appointment can contact Helen at:
Studio:  (250) 547 2070; Artisans Shop:  (250) 547 0020.
