Glass Fusing Workshops with Helen Kovacs
Glassmaker, Helen Kovacs, is now offering glass fusing workshops to be held at her Red Dog Glass Studio, beautifully situated in Cherryville.
A special type of glass is used for fusing, using techniques that date back to 1500 BCE. The student will learn many techniques in hot glass, utilising an electric kiln to melt specially formulated glass together in patterns to create suncatchers, jewellery, ornaments, etc.
Day 1: Create glass art, to be fired overnight. Day 2: Remove work from kiln. Grind, polish and finish items. Critique and discussion for future projects. Student can expect to complete 2 to 3 pieces. Dates: Available by appointment for personal workshops.
Those interested in making an appointment can contact Helen at: Studio: (250) 547 2070; Artisans Shop: (250) 547 0020 |
